Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft m.b.H is the non-profit research organisation owned by the State of Salzburg. The company has expertise in knowledge and content technologies (e.g. Semantic Web, knowledge-enhanced content, tools for knowledge workers), middleware architectures, object-oriented programming, component based software development and Internet technologies. Socio-economic innovation and impact studies in areas such as e-learning and digital culture/heritage complement its research and technological development activities. Salzburg Research co-ordinates two industrial competence centres (dealing with digital media and e-tourism) and offers consulting services to local, national and European organisations.
